This necklace was carefully hand-woven from coconut husk fibers following an intricate design that culminates in a cluster of three teeth from Tahitian reef sharks and a Tahitian black pearl against a backdrop of feathers. The 9-10mm pearl displays a grayish-green color. The necklace is 17.5" (44.5cm) and closes with the double loop and pig-tail closure that is traditional in such pieces. This is a dramatic piece that is unique. Tahitians would appreciate the sharks teeth which are symbolic of courage and often used to provide protection from adversaries. The pearl is a symbol of purity. This piece is an excellent example of expert Tahitian craftsmanship and is a unique, one-of-a-kind design.
